Audition Information

The Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University offers one of the most comprehensive and performance-rich musical environments in the world, combining the resources of a major research university with the intensity and focus of a leading conservatory. Students are immersed in a thriving artistic community that includes a wide range of large ensembles, chamber music opportunities, opera and ballet productions, wind bands, orchestras, jazz programs, and contemporary music experiences—all supported by world-class faculty and state-of-the-art performance facilities. With 1,100 performances presented each year across campus venues each year, students experience a constant cycle of preparation, performance, and artistic growth. Jacobs alumni hold positions in major orchestras, military bands, and universities across the globe, reflecting a tradition of excellence and professional success.

Musical Arts Center-The Musical Arts Center (MAC) seats 1,460 patrons and features advanced acoustical design and technical capabilities, making it one of the grandest performance venues in the United States.

Auer Hall-Made possible by a $1 million dollar gift from Ione B. Auer, the 400-seat auditorium has a high-beamed, coffered ceiling, with two side terraces.

Ford-Crawford Hall– Ford-Crawford Hall, an intimate 100-seat auditorium designed for solo recitals and chamber music performances, was made possible by Richard E. Ford.

Recital Hall-Within Merrill Hall is the school’s most historic performance space, Recital Hall, which hosted its first performance on January 15, 1937. World-renowned musicians have performed in this 500-seat hall for more than 70 years.
